Seaweed Face & Lip Care

Seaweed helps with skin renewal by drawing out dirt, oils, and toxins. Using seaweed in your face mask recipes also adds healthy nutrients like protein, minerals, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants back into your skin. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by stimulating circulation and replenishing skin moisture.

Honey Mask

1 tsp. Honey
1 tsp. Bladderwrack Powder
¼ tsp. Water
Coconut Oil

Combine bladderwrack powder and honey in a glass dish. Add water to thin to desired consistency, about ¼ tsp. Mix thoroughly. Apply the mask and allow to dry slightly (20 mins). Rinse with warm water. Add a cool splash to tighten pores. Finish with coconut oil to moisturize.

Yogurt Face Mask

½ c. Plain Yogurt
2 drops of Lemon or Orange Juice
¼ tsp. Bladderwrack Powder

Mix all ingredients. Apply to face. Let set 15 mins. Wash off with warm water, end with a cool splash to tighten pores.

Banana Face Mask

1 Banana
2 tsp. Honey
¼ tsp. Bladderwrack Powder
With a blender, mix above ingredients. Apply to face for 15 mins.

Rinse with warm water, followed by a splash of cool water to tighten pores.

Pumpkin Mask (great for aging skin)

½ can of Pumpkin
2 drops of Honey
4 tsp. Milk
¼ tsp Bladderwrack Powder

Blend all ingredients together. Apply thinly to face. Leave for 20 mins. Rinse with warm water, apply cool splash to tighten pores. Do this mask twice weekly to see improvements!

Oatmeal Yogurt Mask (good for sensitive skin)

1 tbsp. Plain Yogurt
2 tbsp. Oats (not instant or quick)
¼ tsp. Bladderwrack Powder

Mix ingredients together into a glass bowl, until it forms a paste. Apply to face and leave 15 mins. Rinse with warm water and a splash with cool water to tighten pores.

Lemon and Tumeric Mask (great for fair skin)

1 tbsp. Lemon Juice
3 tbsp. Milk
¼ tsp. Turmeric
¼ tsp. Bladderwrack Powder

Blend all ingredients and apply to face. Let it dry naturally for 15 mins. Rinse with warm water, then apply cool splash to tighten pores.

Honey Beet Tinted Lip Shine

Double Boiler
3 tbsp. Jojoba Oil
2 tbsp. Raw Honey
2 tbsp. Beeswax
2 tsp. Coconut Oil
1 1/2 tsp. Beet Powder, sifted
1 tsp. Irish Moss Powder
1/4 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
6 Lip Balm Tubes/Tins

In a double boiler over medium heat, add jojoba oil, raw honey, beeswax, coconut oil, sifted beet powder, irish moss powder and vitamin E oil. Whisk constantly until the mixture has liquified and the ingredients are smoothly combined, about 5 minutes. Stir in the peppermint essential oil and pour the mixture into lip balm tubes or tins. Let the lip shine sit, uncovered, until cool and hardened, about 1 hour. Once cooled, secure lids and store in a cool place for up to 6 months.

Citrus Rose Lip Scrub

2 tbsp. Sugar or Brown Sugar, fine
1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
1/2 tbsp. Honey
1 tsp. Irish Moss Powder
3 drops Geranium Essential Oil
3 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Natural Colorant: Pink Mica/Rose Petal Powder
3-4 drops Vitamin E Oil
Small Bowl

Add finely ground sugar or brown sugar to a small bowl. If sugar is coarse, use a food processor to grind into a fine powder. If making a rose petal lip scrub, add a spoonful of rose petal powder or a sprinkle of dried rose petals. Grind or lightly chop the rose petals into smaller pieces first. Add the coconut oil, honey, and Irish moss powder. Mix well to incorporate and thoroughly coat the sugar. Add the essential oils and mix well once again. Then add your natural colorant and vitamin E oil. Mix thoroughly to incorporate the color evenly. Transfer the lip scrub to small glass containers or lip balm tins and seal well.

Dried Rose Petals, ground
1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 tsp. Irish Moss Powder
1 tsp Rose Water
Natural Colorant: Pink Mica/Rose Petal Powder
3-4 drops Vitamin E Oil
Small Bowl

Add finely ground sugar or brown sugar to a small bowl. If sugar is coarse, use a food processor to grind into a fine powder. If making a rose petal lip scrub, add a spoonful of rose petal powder or a sprinkle of dried rose petals. Grind or lightly chop the rose petals into smaller pieces first. Add the coconut oil and Irish moss powder. Mix well to incorporate and thoroughly coat the sugar; this will help ensure the rose water does not dissolve the scrub. Add the rose water and mix well once again. Add your natural colorant. Store in the refrigerator to prevent bacterial growth.

Vanilla Rose Lip Scrub

1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 tsp. Irish Moss Powder
3 drops Geranium Essential Oil
3 drops Vanilla Oleoresin
Natural Colorant: Pink Mica/Rose Petal Powder
3-4 drops Vitamin E Oil

Add the coconut oil and Irish moss powder. Mix well to incorporate and thoroughly coat the sugar. Add the essential oils and mix well once again. Then add your natural colorant and vitamin E oil. Mix thoroughly to incorporate the color evenly. Transfer the lip scrub to small glass containers or lip balm tins and seal well.
